A fire broke out Monday morning at a business in Lynwood, and authorities say it was sparked by a Molotov cocktail.
The fire was reported at 3:37 a.m. at 3643 Abbott Road, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Art Marrujo. An Internet entry shows a beauty salon at that address.
Firefighters had the flames out within minutes. Only contents were burned and there were no injuries, Marrujo said.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was called in to investigate because of the possibility a Molotov cocktail started the fire. The matter is under investigation, said Lt. Michael Thomas of the Century Sheriff’s Station. It could take a few days to determine whether to forward the probe to arson investigators.
