Authorities Friday identified a man struck and killed by a vehicle as he was crossing the eastbound Ventura (101) Freeway in Sherman Oaks after a traffic crash.
The incident began as a two-vehicle collision, which occurred about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at Haskell Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Shortly after the initial call, another report came in of a person being struck by a vehicle at the scene of the crash, the CHP reported.
Keith Worthy, 57, of Los Angeles died at the scene, coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter said. Worthy had gotten out of his vehicle and was crossing the freeway on foot when he was struck, Winter said.
