City firefighters extinguished a quarter-acre vegetation fire Sunday in North Hollywood near the Hollywood (170) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The vegetation fire, just north of Victory Boulevard near the 170 Freeway, was reported about 2:45 p.m., fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
During the incident an LAFD truck was struck by a car on the freeway, but no one was reported injured, Humphrey said.
The California Highway Patrol has shut all southbound lanes on the 170 Freeway at Sherman Way and a SigAlert was declared at 3:11 p.m.
The fire was contained in about 30 minutes, Humphrey said. The SigAlert was cancelled at 4:50 p.m. and all lanes were reopened, CHP officer Alex Rubio said.
So far no injuries were reported and no structures were threatened, according to Humphrey.
