A 58-year-old shuttle bus driver from El Monte has been booked on suspicion of sexual battery against a disabled 30-year-old woman while taking her home from a day care facility.
Antelmo Medina was arrested late Wednesday, booked Thursday morning and was being held in lieu of $1.125 million bail, according to sheriff’s inmate records.
Medina drives San Gabriel Valley-area dependent adults from their homes to The Dream House, a state-licensed adult day care facility at 11436 Garvey Ave., and then back home again, according to Sgt. Richard Luna of the El Monte Police Department.
Police learned of the alleged sexual battery on Wednesday, Luna said.
“The alleged crime occurred while Medina transported the victim to her residence,” Luna said. “Medina also served as a physical fitness coach at The Dream House. He has worked at the facility for approximately eight months.”
Anyone with additional information regarding the allegation or any other inappropriate behavior by Medina was urged to contact the El Monte Police Department Detective Bureau at (626) 580-2172 or via email at email@example.com.
