A 58-year-old woman was charged with murder Wednesday for allegedly shooting a woman to death in Pasadena last weekend.

Teretha Howard is scheduled to be arraigned July 20 in connection with Saturday’s shooting death of Katoya King, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Investigators believe the two were acquaintances who were involved in a dispute over a relationship, Pasadena police said.

The murder charge includes gun allegations.

King, 44, of Pasadena, was shot once about 1:45 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of West Peoria Street and died at a hospital, according to the coroner’s office and Pasadena Police Department.

Howard, who also lives in Pasadena, was arrested Saturday afternoon by Pasadena police.

Her bail has been set at $3 million, according to police.
