The coroner’s office Saturday released the name of a 62- year-old man who fired gunshots outside the Chinese Consulate, west of the Filipinotown area of Los Angeles, and then shot and killed himself earlier this week.

The man was identified as Larry Zhang of San Gabriel, the coroner’s office reported.

The shooting was reported about 6 a.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Shatto Place, Los Angeles Police Officer Drake Madison said.

Zhang died in his vehicle at the shooting scene, according to coroner’s officials.

No one was injured by the shots that were fired by Zhang before he killed himself, Madison said.
