Authorities Thursday released the name of a 53-year-old Lancaster man who was killed when his motorcycle collided with a truck on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Granada Hills.

William Ralph Judge was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 4:29 a.m. Tuesday on the southbound Golden State Freeway near Balboa Boulevard, according to the county coroner’s office and Los Angeles Fire Department.

The 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was in the carpool lane when it slammed into the truck, said Josh Greengard, a public information officer with the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP’s Newhall office asked anyone who saw the crash to call investigators at (661) 295-5590.
