Firefighters worked all night to battle a fire that broke out amidst “hoarder conditions” in Riverside this Labor Day holiday weekend.

Crews had some difficulty putting out the blaze because of “hoarder conditions” inside the boarded up home, said Tony Perna of the Riverside City Fire Department.

“The floors and rooms had approximately 3 to 4 feet of various items stacked throughout the residence,” he said.

The non-injury fire was reported at 8:25 p.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of Atwater Avenue and firefighters worked through the night to extinguish it.

RCFD will refer the home to code enforcement once the fire has been completely put out, Perna said.
