Extra patrols were assigned at Palisades Charter High School Tuesday in response to a threat made by an expelled student.

Detectives are continuing to monitor the situation, but have determined there is no credible threat at this time, said Detective Ross Nemeroff of the Los Angeles Police Department’s media relations office.

The threat posted Monday night by the expelled student warned students to not go to school Tuesday, according to an email sent to parents by school administrators.

The same student had posted an earlier threat of the same nature, but that date passed without incident, ABC7 reported.

A parent told Channel 7 Tuesday morning that she spoke with school officials, and she felt assured that “they had already taken control of the situation.”
