A $25,000 reward was being offered Wednesday for information that leads to an arrest and conviction for the fatal beating of an 85-year-old Korean War veteran in Carson on May 31.
Frank Hernandez was attacked and robbed that afternoon as he walked in the 300 block of East 220th Street, the sheriff’s department reported. He died a week later in a hospital.
Authorities planned a 10 a.m. news conference at the sheriff’s Carson Station to announce the reward and release a composite drawing of the suspect.
Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
