Authorities Tuesday identified a 19-year-old man who was killed in a vehicle-to-vehicle gun battle in the Lake View Terrace area of Los Angeles.
Francisco Trejo Jr. was in an SUV that crashed into a building near Foothill Boulevard and Osborne Street, a couple of blocks from where he and a suspect had exchanged gunfire at Foothill Boulevard and Terra Bella Street about 2:30 p.m. Monday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. He died at the scene.
No one was injured in the building, which houses Discovery Cube Los Angeles, a children’s educational museum.
Police said the shooting is believed to have been gang-related, and the assailant remains at large.
The suspect vehicle was described only as a white pickup truck. No description was released of the suspect.
