Authorities are searching Friday for a minimum-security inmate who walked away from a conservation camp in Acton.
Edgar Gonzalez, 29, who was assigned to Acton Conservation Camp No. 11 at 8800 Soledad Canyon Road, was last seen there at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, according to California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation officials.
Other agencies, including the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, are searching for Gonzalez, who is Hispanic, 5 feet 5, 280 pounds, bald, with brown eyes.
Gonzalez was transferred from Los Angeles County to Department of Corrections custody on April 13 to serve a two-year, eight-month sentence for possession of a firearm by a felon, officials said. He was scheduled to be released on probation on Sept. 13, 2018.
Anyone who sees Gonzalez is urged to call 911 immediately.
