A man armed with a shotgun suffered two gunshot wounds to the upper torso in an officer-involved shooting in Baldwin Park, a sheriff’s deputy said Saturday.
The man’s condition was not immediately known, said Deputy Joana Warren of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Information Bureau.
No officers were injured in the shooting, which occurred at 8:05 p.m. Friday in the 3100 block of Frazier Street.
Two Baldwin Park Police officers, assigned to the department’s gang units, were in a vehicle when they saw a gang member walking on the sidewalk, Warren said.
“As both officers attempted to contact the suspect, he brandished a shotgun and an officer-involved shooting occurred,” Warren said.
There was no other immediate information.
