The mean streets of Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles got a lot meaner for three victims who were shot and wounded in an area where homeless people’s tents line sidewalks each night.

The shooting, which was believed to be gang-related, was reported Wednesday night in the area of Seventh and San Pedro streets, according to Officer Sal Ramirez of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Two women, one about 45 years old and the other about 30, were struck in the lower body and an approximately 40-year-old man was shot in a leg, according to Ramirez, who said all three were taken to a hospital.

The victims were in stable condition, police said.

No suspect was immediately taken into custody and no suspect description was immediately available, Ramirez said.

Other than the possibility of gang involvement, officials did not provide information about a possible motive.
