A man who barricaded himself Friday inside a home in South Los Angeles over a possible domestic issue was taken into custody after police fired tear gas into the residence.
Officers were dispatched at 8:42 a.m. in response to an “assault with a deadly weapon suspect” call to the area of 70th and Cimarron streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A SWAT team was called out to the location and tried negotiating with the suspect to come out of the residence, but just after 2 p.m. officers fired tear gas into the home and collared the suspect, police said.
It was not immediately clear if the man was armed.
