Authorities were looking for a man who attacked a third-grade boy as he was walking home from school in Placentia.
The boy was walking from Sierra Vista Elementary School when the man approached him aThursday afternoon, according to Placentia Police Sgt. Chris Anderson. An exact location of the attack was not provided.
The boy told police he felt as though his personal space was being violated so he punched and kicked the suspect as he tried to get away. The boy said the man grabbed one of his wrists and scratched his forearm, according to Anderson.
“The student was in fear and threw a pencil at the suspect’s face,” Anderson said.
The suspect then punched the boy and fled on foot, according to Anderson.
The boy sustained minor injuries and was released to his parents at the scene.
The suspect was described as dark skinned, in his late 20s, unshaven, with black short combed hair. He was seen wearing a light blue T-shirt, black jeans, and black and white tennis shoes.
Anyone with information on this case was encouraged to call Placentia Police Detectives at (714) 993-8146.
