
Two dogs and a cat died Thursday in a fire that broke out in a residence in Riverside County near Corona that damaged the structure’s upper floor before crews got the blaze under control.
The blaze was reported about 1:10 p.m. in the 3700 block of Camino Anguilla, near Via Salvia, just south of the Corona city limits in Home Gardens, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Firefighters from both the county and Corona were sent to the location and encountered flames on the second floor, burning through the roof.
Two dogs and a cat perished in the fire, which occurred while the occupants were apparently out.
There was no word on what caused the blaze, which was fully contained by 1:35 p.m.
