An 81-year-old La Puente woman was struck and killed as she walked along a street in Baldwin Park, according to the California Highway Patrol.
It occurred at 6:50 p.m. Saturday on Don Julian Road west of Pamela Kay Lane as the woman walked northbound across Don Julian and was struck by a black or tan sedan traveling westbound. The vehicle turned onto Workman Mill Road and fled without stopping, CHP investigators said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, according to the coroner’s office.
