A fire at a homeless encampment in Rowland Heights Wednesday scorched about an eighth of an acre of brush and damaged a shed, but no one was hurt, authorities said.

Firefighters sent to the 2200 block of Cascade Way about 6 a.m. doused the flames in about 20 minutes, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
