At least one man tried to force his way into Ketchum’s residence, said Deputy Charles Moore of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

“The victim was confronted by the suspect and a physical altercation occurred,” according to Moore, who said Ketchum was stabbed in the mid-torso area.

No description was released of the suspect, who fled on foot.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
