Authorities Friday identified a man who was killed when his motorized scooter crashed into a parked car in South Los Angeles.
The crash was reported at 8:43 p.m. Thursday near McKinley Avenue and 41st Street, said Sgt. Kris Werner of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division.

Manuel Garcia, 24, died at a hospital, the coroner’s office reported. His home town was not known.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
