A pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and- run motorist Saturday in the Jefferson Park area, officials said.
The pedestrian somehow “fell into the roadway” and was struck about 5:55 a.m. in the 2300 block of Crenshaw Boulevard, according to Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.
Police had no description of the suspect’s vehicle, Lopez said.
The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene and his name will be released pending notification of next of kin, said Lt. Dave Smith of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
