An arson fire damaged some playground equipment Wednesday at a Pomona elementary school, police said.

The fire was reported about 6 a.m. at Montvue Elementary School, 1440 San Bernardino Ave., the Pomona Police Department reported.

“An unknown suspect set … playground apparatus on fire,” a police statement said. “School was not in session, and no one was injured. It does not appear that any buildings were damaged as a result of this arson incident.”

Anyone with information on the fire, or who may have security video showing possible suspects in the neighborhood, was asked to call police at (909) 620-2085.
