Authorities Thursday identified a young man who was fatally shot in South Los Angeles.
Juan Ortiz, 18, of Los Angeles was gunned down about 1 p.m. Monday near 52nd Street and McKinley Avenue and died at a hospital, according to coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

The suspect, described only as a male, fled in a newer-model white sedan, police said. Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call (877) LAPD-247.
