A fiery fatal crash shut down a portion of Pacific Coast Highway Thursday morning in Huntington Beach and one driver was in custody on suspicion of DUI.

The two-vehicle crash was reported at 1:08 a.m. near Magnolia Street, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

One person burned to death inside a red Toyota, police said. Another person was taken to a hospital, according to police, but the victim’s condition was not immediately available.

The surviving driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to reports from the scene.

The highway was expected to be shut down for the duration of the morning commute and possibly longer.
