Police Thursday released a sketch of a suspect who attacked and sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy who was left unconscious during a church event in Boyle Heights.
The victim and his family were attending an event about 3:30 p.m. on March 17 at a church near the 1700 block of Cesar E. Chavez Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“After the event ended, the victim used the upstairs restroom,” according to an LAPD statement. “An unknown male suspect approached the victim and punched him in the face, knocking him down to the ground. The suspect dragged the victim out of the restroom and attempted to place him in a storage room. The victim lost consciousness as the suspect attempted to rip his shirt apart. Around 5:30 p.m., the victim was found unconscious in a secluded stairwell. The victim awoke and complained of pain to his rectum.”
The suspect, who fled in an unknown direction, was described as black with a bald or shaved head, a beard and light-colored, possibly green eyes. He was wearing a yellow long-sleeve T-shirt, light blue jeans with designer tears and red Timberland boots with tan-colored soles.
