A stolen car suspect who allegedly tried to run down responding police officers was in custody Tuesday after leading police on a two-hour chase, authorities said.

The pursuit began at 10:26 p.m. Monday in the area of 67th Street and Victoria Avenue in South Los Angeles. Officers were observing the stolen car and saw the suspect get inside of it before the suspect tried to run officers over and attempted to ram their vehicles, said Officer Tony Im of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Division.

No officers were injured, Im said.

The suspect led authorities to the San Diego (405) Freeway, where he traveled from West Los Angeles to the San Fernando Valley, then on the southbound San Diego Freeway, the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway and westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway, then returning to the southbound San Diego Freeway.

The suspect was taken into custody in the Inglewood area, according to reports from the scene.
