Inglewood Police detectives Saturday are investigating a deadly crash that claimed the life of a motorcycle rider.
Officers responded to the area of Prairie Avenue and Regent Street at 10:10 p.m. Friday after getting calls about a crash involving multiple vehicles and a motorcycle, according to a statement from the Inglewood Police Department.
The preliminary investigation revealed the motorcycle rider was traveling southbound on Prairie Avenue and collided with a Mercedes that was making a left turn from northbound Prairie Avenue to Regent Street, police said.
The motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries, officials said.
The driver of the Mercedes was also taken to the hospital and is cooperating with the investigation, said police.
The cause of the crash is under investigation and it has not been determined if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
