Authorities Monday identified a man being sought as the alleged driver in a hit-and-run crash in Sun Valley that left another man dead.

Oscar Armando Lopez allegedly ran from the scene of the crash, which occurred about 3:30 a.m. June 7 in the 11000 block of Sherman Way, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A news conference was planned Monday afternoon by detectives seeking public help to solve the crime.

Lopez allegedly was driving a 2007 Nissan Murano that crashed into several parked cars before slamming into a light pole. Two of the three passengers in the car were ejected from the vehicle, police said.

Juan Alberto Torres, 23, of Sun Valley was one of the people ejected, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, according to the LAPD. Another person was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The driver and the third passenger ran from the scene after the crash.
