A van that slammed into a power pole knocked out power to 911 Southern California Edison customers in Huntington Beach, authorities said Tuesday.
The crash occurred about 10 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Golden West Street and Valentine Drive, according to Sgt. Julio Mendez with the Huntington Beach Police Department.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, Mendez said.
Edison repair crews are scene and power is estimated to be restored by 5 a.m., according to the utility.
