Two brothers who allegedly shot and stabbed a number of people during a robbery at a Banning medical marijuana dispensary were in custody Friday following their arrests in San Diego.
Raymond Matus, 19, and Richard Matus Jr., 25, both of Beaumont, are accused in Saturday’s robbery of Go Green Calming Solutions, 6020 West Ramsey Street.
Officers arrived at the business just before 11 p.m. and found “multiple victims suffering from both gunshot wounds and stab wounds,” according to the Banning Police Department.
The exact number of victims and the severity of their injuries were not disclosed, but the department said they were hospitalized “in stable condition.”
The men made their getaway in a dark-colored sedan, and police disseminated photographs of the suspects to the public, with citizens warned that the men were considered armed and dangerous.
The men were arrested Thursday on University Avenue in San Diego through the joint efforts of the Banning, Desert Hot Springs and San Diego police departments.
Richard Matus Jr. was being held on $2.14 million bail, while Raymond Matus was being held on $3 million bail, according to county jail records. The men are expected to make their initial court appearances on Monday.
