A woman was struck and killed Friday by a hit-and-run driver in North Hills.

The woman was outside of a crosswalk walking westbound on Plummer Street at Sepulveda Boulevard around midnight when she was struck by a black BMW going southbound, according to Officer Norma Eisenman with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.

The victim’s body was found 150 feet from the intersection and the car may have been traveling at 80 mph at the time of the crash, NBC4 reported.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Eisenman said.

A good Samaritan followed the BMW on Plummer Street to the San Diego (405) Freeway before losing contact with the car, ABC7 reported.
