A woman was critically injured in a house fire in Venice Tuesday morning.
Firefighters went to the 900 block of South 4th Avenue about 4:40 a.m. and found a single story home with smoke showing from the rear of the residence and excessive storage conditions inside, according to Margaret Stewart with the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters made entry into the home and rescued a woman, who was transported to a hospital in critical condition, Stewart said.
It took 29 firefighters 34 minutes to extinguish the flames, she said.
The Los Angeles Fire Department Arson Squad was called to investigate the cause of the fire, said Stewart.
