A suspected drunk driver is jailed Thursday morning after he crashed into a home in Downey, the second DUI crash and arrest reported in the city in less than 24 hours, police said.
The crash happened just before midnight Wednesday in the area of Pivot Street and Horton Avenue, according to the Downey Police Department. The driver had a blood alcohol content level twice the legal limit when he was arrested, police said.
No one was injured and the driver was booked for DUI, said police.
Early Wednesday morning a suspected DUI driver was arrested by Downey officers following a head-on collision in the intersection of Old River School and Stewart and Gray roads. Only minor injuries were reported.
