A 16-year-old diabetic boy remained missing Monday, three days after he was believed to have run away from home, authorities said.
DeJuan Ali Rhodes was last seen about 3:30 p.m. Saturday leaving the Sierra Madre Villa Metro train station, Deputy Marvin Crowder of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.
Rhodes’ family and care givers were especially concerned for his well-being because he is an insulin-dependent diabetic.
Rhodes is black, 5 feet 5, 138 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, wearing a green shirt, blue shorts, and white shoes. He was last seen carrying a basketball.
Deputies asked anyone with information about Rhodes to call Sgt. P. Parkhurst or Detective C. Cordoba at the sheriff’s Altadena station at (626) 798-1131, or 911. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
