A 21-year-old man was taken into custody Friday for allegedly slashing his 53-year-old father, 57-year-old mother and 14-year-old sister at a home in Stanton.
Deputies were called about 12:50 a.m. to the 11100 block of Irwin Drive and found the three injured family members, along with the suspect’s girlfriend, who has a facial contusion, according to the sheriff’s department.
The suspect’s father was the most severely injured, but the other three were treated for “mild to moderate injuries,” said Carrie Braun, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s department. All are expected to survive their wounds.
The suspect, whose name was not immediately released, got into an argument with relatives that escalated into a physical conflict, Braun said.
It appears the suspect used some sort of a blade, like a box cutter, to slash his family members, Braun said. The suspect was not injured.
He was expected to be booked on suspicion of attempted murder, among other crimes such as assault with a deadly weapon, Braun said.
