A bicyclist died at a hospital after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in Sun Valley, Los Angeles police said Monday.
The case was reported at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Strathern Street and Belligham Avenue, Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section said. The bicyclist — whose identity was being withheld — was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators determined the 45-year-old man was riding eastbound in the designated bicycle lane when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle described as a dark, possibly gray SUV that stopped for a few seconds and continued on without rendering aid to the victim, Eisenman said.
