A man was shot and killed in Long Beach and police searched Wednesday for his killer.

Officers responded about 10:10 p.m. Tuesday to a call of a person down in an alley in the 1300 block of East Wesley Drive and discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body, according to Lt. Tony Lopez of the Long Beach Police Department.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Long Beach Fire Department paramedics, Lopez said.

A motive for the shooting was unknown and it was unclear if the shooting was gang related, Lopez said.

A description of the suspect was not immediately available.
