Two children were hospitalized in critical condition and one adult driver was also hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in the Vermont-Slauson area of Los Angeles, authorities said Monday.
The crash was reported at 8:58 p.m. Sunday at 723 West Florence Ave., Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.
The age and gender of the children were not available, she said.
One of the involved vehicles struck a utility pole after the crash, Sgt. Minh Nguyen of the Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division said.
The children were taken to Harbor UCLA in Torrance, Nguyen said.
One adult driver was taken to California Hospital and was considered a “person of interest” in the crash, he said.
