A man was trapped in one of two trucks that collided Tuesday morning in Wilmington.

Firefighters responded about 3:30 a.m. to the 1600 block of North Alameda Street and located a collision involving a tractor trailer and an asphalt truck with at least one person trapped, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Crews anticipate a prolonged operation to free the man due to the complexity of safely removing the vehicle from around the victim, Stewart said.

It was unclear what led up to the crash.
