A woman was hit by a vehicle and knocked unconscious at a Corona intersection, and police Saturday were looking for people who may have witnessed the crash.

First responders dispatched to the scene just before 7 p.m. Friday found the injured woman lying in the roadway at Main and Ninth streets, according to the Corona Police Department.

Emergency personnel took her to a hospital where she remained in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the victim, which was described as a “truck” carrying two people, remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, according to police.

Neither of the people riding in the truck were injured.

Authorities had not yet determined if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision, and were looking for people inside a second, uninvolved vehicle that had been at the scene.

“Witnesses could not describe this vehicle; however, investigators would like to speak with the occupants of this vehicle to obtain a statement,” police said.

Police urged anyone who saw the collision and could provide information to contact Officer David Dopson at (951) 817-5845 or David.Dopson@CoronaCA.gov.
