An explosion rocked a room at a Motel 6 in Buena Park Wednesday morning and authorities investigated the possibility the room was being used as a drug lab.

Firefighters responded just after midnight to the Motel 6 at 7051 Valley View Street, just north of the Artesia (91) Freeway, the Orange County Fire Authority reported. No fire resulted from the blast, the OCFA said.

An OCFA HazMat team and the Buena Park Police Department investigated the incident as a possible drug lab mishap but did not release further details.

No injuries were reported, and it was not clear if the explosion prompted evacuations.
