Two brothers died from wounds suffered in a San Pedro shooting, and a man was wounded nearly two hours later in a second shooting nearby, authorities said Friday.
Officers responded about 9:50 p.m. Thursday to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Santa Cruz Street and found two men suffering from at least one gunshot wound each, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
San Pedro residents Jason Agustin Montes, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene and Justin Antonio Montes, 27, was pronounced dead at an area hospital, said Sarah Ardalani, a public information officer with the coroner’s office.
The gunman walked up and fired at the brothers, hitting both of them fatally, police said.
A detailed description of the suspect was not immediately available and it was unclear if the shooting was gang-related.
A second shooting occurred about 11:45 p.m. at 11th and South Palos Verdes streets, police said.
A 38-year-old man was walking along a street when a gunman shot him, police said. The unidentified victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening wound.
The shooting was believed to be gang-related, according to police. No suspect description was available.
