The 13th annual Walk to End Genocide will be held Sunday in the Fairfax district, a fundraising effort to support Jewish World Watch’s projects in conflict-affected communities.
The group’s projects benefiting from the walk include delivering medical aid to areas hardest hit by the Syrian Civil War; a perma-gardening project to improve food security for Darfuri refugees in Eastern Chad; and fighting sexual and gender-based violence in Congo.
The walk also raises funds to educate, advocate, and provide on-the-ground relief for survivors of genocide and mass atrocities in Congo, South Sudan, Sudan and Syria as well as housing for Rohingya refugees who have fled to Bangladesh.
Registration for the walk begins at 9:30 a.m. in Pan Pacific Park, 7600 Beverly Blvd., and the walk at 10 a.m.
Jewish World Watch is an Encino-based group founded in 2004.
