Deputies wounded two men suspected of shooting at a Compton resident, authorities said Monday.

The deputy-involved shooting was reported at 10:47 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Alondra Boulevard, Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.

The deputies from the Compton sheriff’s station were patrolling the area when they “spotted two individuals matching the descriptions of two suspects who reportedly confronted a man in his driveway nearby,” Koerner said. “During the confrontation one of the suspects drew a firearm and fired a gunshot as the victim turned and ran.”

The deputies saw that one suspect had a handgun and a deputy-involved shooting occurred, he said.

“Both suspects were struck by gunfire and transported to a local hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries,” Koerner said. Both were believed in their late teens.

No deputies were injured in the shooting and a handgun was recovered at the scene, he said.

An investigation continued and anyone with information was asked to call homicide detectives at (323) 890-5500 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).
