A 76-year-old woman’s body was found Tuesday in the back yard of her Arcadia home, where her SUV was missing, prompting a homicide investigation.
The body was discovered about 7 a.m. in the 300 block of East Forest Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which was assisting Arcadia police in the investigation.
A construction crew doing work at the home found the body in the back yard, according to a report from the scene.
The woman’s name was withheld pending next of kin notification. Information on her cause of death was not immediately available.
Investigators discovered the victim’s vehicle — a white 2005 Lexus RX 300 with the California license plate 5LOG473 — was missing from the home and sought the public’s help in locating it.
