The Los Angeles County coroner’s office Monday identified a man fatally shot in a gang-related shooting attack in South Los Angeles in which two other men were wounded.

Michael Hemphill III, 29, was a Los Angeles resident, coroner’s Lt. Larry Dietz said.

It happened about 11:10 p.m. Friday in the 1300 block of East 111th Street, Officer Tony Im of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section said.

Paramedics rushed the shooting victims to a hospital, where Hemphill died from his injuries and a 27-year-old man and a 20-year-old man had stable vital signs, Im said.
