An armed man was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Watts after he opened fire on officers, authorities said Wednesday morning.
Officers responded about 11 p.m. Tuesday to a call of a man with a gun on 113th Street near Wilmington Avenue and were fired on by the suspect, the bullets striking the police vehicle, Los Angeles Police Department Detective Meghan Aguilar told NBC4.
The officers under fire called for help and more officers arrived and those officers opened fire on the still armed man, Aguilar said.
The suspect was hiding and lying near a parked car in a driveway and appeared to be holding a gun, ABC7 reported.
The name of the suspect was not disclosed.
