A 64-year-old man who was struck and killed by a minivan in Newport Beach was publicly identified Tuesday by the Orange County coroner’s office.
Gregory Whittingham was hit on a Newport Beach street just before 2 a.m. on Saturday, according to the coroner’s office. He died at the scene, the coroner’s office reported.
It’s unclear if Whittingham was in a crosswalk when he was struck.
There’s no word yet as to whether the driver of the minivan was cited.
The crash was being investigated by the Newport Beach Police Department.
