Authorities Tuesday released the name of a man who was fatally shot outside a Hacienda Heights party by one or more suspects who remain at large.
Rayvon Tart, 33, of Los Angeles died at the scene of the shooting that occurred about 1:30 a.m. Monday in the 15300 block of Manzanita Drive, according to the coroner’s office and the sheriff’s department. A woman was shot and wounded, but survived.
The party was at a nearby residence in the 1700 block of Vallecito Drive, Deputy Trina Schrader said.
“Earlier in the evening, deputies responded to this location for a loud party call,” Schrader said. “As the victims were believed to be leaving the party, a dark colored vehicle approached …”
One or more suspects fired several rounds at the victims, and the car sped off. It was unclear if the suspect or suspects got out of the vehicle before firing, Schrader said.
When deputies arrived, they found Tart lying on the ground suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the upper body, Schrader said.
Two women in their 20s suffered non-life-threatening injuries, she said.
“One received a gunshot wound to the upper torso,” the deputy said. “She was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The second female was treated at the scene for minor injuries related to the shooting — not a gunshot wound.”
No suspect information was released.
Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
